Erebor, also known as the Lonely Mountain, is a prominent location in J.R.R. Tolkien’s The Lord of the Rings. It’s a massive mountain in northeastern Rhovanion and the location of a thriving Dwarven kingdom, the Kingdom under the Mountain. Â

In fantasy settings, “Dwarf” often evokes smells of earth, metal, tobacco, and leather, sometimes with a hint of beer.
